A week ago I borrowed a trainer on which I can mount the rear wheel of my bicycle to get a workout in my garage. I don’t need the exercise so much as I need the muscle memory of bicycling basics. The way I see it, I am getting my body used to the bike fit and posture and I can practice moving my hands without fear of losing control of the steering. Some day I’ll have to pull out my water bottle for a drink or signal a turn. I also get to practice looking over my shoulder in preparation for turning when I’m near traffic. Read more... (426 words, 2 images, estimated 1:42 mins reading time)
{"id":1363,"date":"2013-01-31T23:19:03","date_gmt":"2013-02-01T06:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/getrolling.com\/blog\/?p=1363"},"modified":"2021-01-07T12:36:30","modified_gmt":"2021-01-07T19:36:30","slug":"road-bike-status","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/getrolling.com\/blog\/2013\/01\/31\/road-bike-status\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Status (new road bike)"},"content":{"rendered":"
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Advent trainer photo\" alt=\"Road bike trainer for stationary cycling\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQbuuQ2BrNRqGwUEe7wbIPSm-HxkBm9K8XRI204jORmY-sAdpex\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" align=\"right\" \/><\/a>As long as I’m not riding in the real world, I feel pretty comfortable on my road bike!
